Care Instructions

We prefer that materials age gracefully rather than polish them. That is, however, our personal preference. To eliminate discoloration, use a polish made exclusively for brass, such as Brasso. Use a gentle cleaning cloth to apply it according to the directions on the bottle (Our preference is a knit-cotton material). Wash the brass with warm water and mild dish soap before beginning to polish it. Apply the soapy water with a soft, moist cloth and clean it until all debris and dust is gone.

The solid brass mortice door knob from Alexander and Wilks are wonderfully constructed by skilled artisans. They were designed utilising historic British style door hardware that featured a distinctive mushroom shape.

This Solid Brass Mortice Door Knob is offered with separate roses to allow mortice or rim fastening. The traditional mushroom shape suits in traditional and contemporary residential, and commercial buildings.

They are supplied in pairs, complete with fixings.

Available with two different diameters: 41mm and 51mm. We advise installing a double-sprung latch because this is an unsprung Knob. Made from solid brass and offered in polished brass, antique brass, polished nickel, and polished chrome.
